Mellieha Bay — Located in the very north of Malta, Mellieha Bay is the island’s largest sandy beach, attracting tourists from all over the island. The beach is ideal for families as the water is shallow for at least 30 metres into the sea. There are restaurants and kiosks at the beach and you can rent chairs and umbrellas.

During summer it can get a little crowded as many hotels and apartments are built nearby and tourists select their accomodation specifically due to the proximity to a sandy beach. If you visit Mellieha we recommend you pass by the Red Tower that sits at the top of the hill which is visible from the beach. Besides the museum and the tower’s history, you will have a fantastic view across the entire bay.
