Golden Bay — Malta’s most popular family beach allows swimmers to walk into the sea for at least 30 metres as the water is pretty flat. Life guards will watch out for swimmers during summer. A large Radisson hotel is located right next to the beach, so Golden Bay is rather the opposite of a secret spot. In summer the beach can be crowded and it is better to come here during the week.

Visiting Golden Bay off-season is a great idea. Since the bay is protected from both sides water temperatures can still be surprisingly warm until end of October. The best snorkeling spot is near the rocks and on a good day you should spot different types of fishes here. If you are into hiking, you can walk the path that goes up the rock that separates Golden Bay from Riviera Beach. Views towards the open sea are great from the top!

Parking space is very limited during the summer and we recommend you take bus 44 to Ghajn Tuffieha. Of course going by Bolt is the comfortable option!
