Pretty Bay — A large sandy beach for everyone who stays in the South of Malta. Children love building sandcastles here and young adults play either beach volleyball or basketball. You can go for a swim, but the water quality isn’t the same as for other swimming spots in Malta. We asked ourselves if this is related to the large container ships that call at Malta Freeport or whether this is due to the amount of tourists that come here. During the off-season the water becomes more transparent when no tourists are around, so we reckon it is the latter.

To get here you either take bus 82 from Valletta or bus X4 from the airport. You can get there by car, but Pretty Bay only offers limited for parking. Bolt rides to the South can be a little expensive since it takes up to 25 minutes from Sliema and 20 minutes from Valletta to get here.
