We are big coffee fans and living nearby, these are our daily go-to spots in the Three Cities.

DATE is one of the most charming coffee places I would say. You sit on pillows, mattresses and pallets that are placed on the steps with a view over the marina and the little bridge that connects both sides of Cospicua.

The menu includes brunch options, so you could spend quite some time here. The place has a pretty relaxed atmosphere and they usually play Mediterranean summer beats.

Though some of the customers are locals, I feel the majority are tourists who are looking to tank some sun while having their iced latte or cocktails.

Bella Sicilia, Cospicua

Bella Sicilia, Cospicua

This Italian café is very close to the ferry terminal and just next to “Mykonos by Yiamas”, the Greek restaurant. Bella Sicilia is perfect to watch the ferry and boats come and go while having a cappuccino or a fresh cannoli.

In Malta you will find that many coffee places have plastic tables and chairs, and so does Bella Sicilia. The Italian waitors give it a lot of Italian charm though and we love watching the people who stroll along the waterfront right in front of us.

Café Riche, Birgu

Café Riche, Birgu

Located right next to the main roundabout near the entrance of Birgu, Café Riche is a brunch place and a music event location at the same time.

The menu covers everything from classic coffees to cocktails later in the day. We love their cappuccinos with the Maltese cross drawn in cocoa powder on top!

The bus stops only a few metres away from here, so we usually end up at Café Riche before we head home.

Café du Brazil, Birgu

Cafe du Brazil is our favourite away from the waterfront and we love sitting here at the heart of Birgu.

Victory Square is always pretty busy and sometimes there are cultural events such as Birgu Fest.

You can either come here for a sandwich and a coffee or have lunch right away.

During the off-season you will meet many locals who pass their day here, in summer it is a lot of tourists though as many Three Cities tours pass by the square.

Aghmilli Kafe, Cospicua

Aghmilli Kafe is a simpler and more local coffee place, just across from the American University.

They also offer typical Maltese cakes and it’s mostly students and workers having a quick coffee here.
