Malta at War Museum – is housed in old barrack blocks built into the 17th-century fortifications and beneath it there are large air-raid shelter carved into rock.
Inside, you’ll find various galleries of artifacts with uniforms, medals, maps and documents. The shelter below has communal dormitories, a surgery and many small cubicles where families once sheltered during Word War II bombings.

Open Monday to Saturday, 10:00-16:30 (last admission at 4pm). Adult tickets are ~€14. Seniors and children have reduced price.

Yes — there are audio guides and interpretation panels. Some visits include the wartime film “Malta G.C.” as part of the experience.

The shelters are restored and safe, but not all areas are very easy for pushchairs or those with mobility issues. Wear comfortable shoes.
