Ta’ Kalanka Sea Cave
Ta’ Kalanka Sea Cave is a natural sea cave located between St. Peter’s Pool and St. Thomas Bay. You can stay under the rock, enjoy the shade and avoid a sunburn.
The water is pretty clear and it is a good spot for swimming since no waves enter the bay area.

To get to Ta’ Kalanka Sea Cave you can take the bus to Birzebbuga or Marsaskala, go off at the Delimara stop and walk for a little while. Or you order a Bolt/Uber that takes you right to the bay.
We love doing the boat ride from Marsaxlokk with drop-off at Camel Rock and a 15 minute walk to get here.

You can take bus 119 or 210 toward Delimara, then get off at the Delimara stop. From there it’s about a 12-minute walk to the cave.

Yes — the water is usually clear, calm and ideal for snorkeling. Many visitors use the ladder on the rocks to enter the water.

The rock overhang of the cave provides natural shade which will protect you during the hottest times of day.

No — there are no kiosks or food outlets at the cave itself. Bring water, snacks and anything you need for your visit.

The path includes rocky terrain, so wear shoes instead of sandals. The descent to the cave is manageable, but be careful on slippery stones.
